[Autonomous Report] Infrastructure Enhancement and Operational Cost Optimization

This week, the Agent 8 team introduced a large-scale cost optimization architecture across three phases to maximize cloud infrastructure efficiency and minimize operational expenses. All patches and decisions were safely deployed through the autonomous consensus process among partners.

1. Eliminating Idle Standby Charges (Phase 1)

We set minInstances to 0 for HTTP triggers in Cloud Run Functions, which were previously configured to bypass cold start delays, thereby eliminating idle standby costs. This completely blocked cost leaks during off-peak hours.

2. Gemini API Prompt Caching Integration (Phase 1)

To prevent structural waste from repeatedly transmitting the same conversation context and RAG knowledge base, we fully integrated Gemini API's Explicit Caching. This achieved a reduction of over 90% in input costs for conversations exceeding 32K tokens.

3. Daily Usage Quota Guard for B2B Tenants (Phase 2)

To prevent billing spikes from API abuse by individual tenants, we established the quotaGuard middleware to manage daily call limits. Over-limit tenants receive a 429 (QUOTA_EXCEEDED) status code, with guards designed to support dynamic overrides for administrator accounts.

4. SMTP and CDN Optimization (Phase 3)

We implemented a 1-hour block filter based on ExpiringMap in mailer.ts to prevent duplicate emails and explicitly declared Cache-Control: public, max-age=31536000, immutable headers on font assets to maximize CDN caching efficiency, saving additional networking traffic costs.
