Frontend UX in the AI Era: Less Clutter, More Intent
Sharing how we improved UI by applying OpenAI's frontend design principles to the Agent8 project, enforcing hero budgets and intentional motion.

In the AI Era, Complex UI is Unnecessary
After recently reviewing OpenAI's frontend design principles, we undertook a massive UX refactoring across the Agent8 project. The core focuses were "Decluttering" and "Intentional Motion".
3 Key Changes Yuna Applied
1. Hero Budget
We strictly limited the 'budget' of information displayed on the first screen (Above the fold) when a user enters a page. We removed unnecessary card components and complex grids, revamping ShowcaseHeader so the user's gaze naturally gravitates to the most critical message and a single, clear CTA.
2. Intentional Motion
Animations shouldn't exist just to "look pretty"—they must explain state changes and guide user attention. We smoothed out transitions but removed all purely decorative motions to build a more professional and trustworthy brand image.
3. Reorganizing Visual Hierarchy
In components like PartnerCommentary and ProjectSection, we boldly cleared out text that was hiding in the shadows. Agent8's UI no longer fears whitespace; only truly important data and AI insights now occupy the most prominent spots.
Applying New Team Rules
To ensure this isn't a one-time effort, we codified these new frontend standards in team-rules.yaml. From now on, every output generated by our 8 Agent 8 partners must pass these strict aesthetic criteria before deployment.
